AIS association was established on the initiative of the Board of Directors of Geophysical organizations at the USSR Ministry of Geology and acquired its legal status in 1990.
In 2009, AIS became international.
AIS has included companies from Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, among them manufacturers and customers for well logging and operations in wells, innovative enterprises, factories manufacturing products for well logging and operations in wells, as well as university departments.
